Suspect Attempts to Flee from Police

Riverside, CA At 2:30 p.m. officers from the Riverside Police Department pulled over a 2001 silver Toyota for running a stop sign at Crest and Gramercy.  While talking with the driver (after having him exit the vehicle), the driver turned and fled on foot with the officers in pursuit.  The driver ran into a residence in the 10000 block of Hedrick.  Alone at the time in the residence were two children, ages 8 and 11.  The suspect told the children not to tell anyone he was there.  The children ran out of the house, leaving the suspect alone in the residence.  Officers surrounded and secured the perimeter of the house.

The homeowner arrived at the scene and confirmed the suspect did not live there and had no permission to be in the residence.  Officers ordered the suspect out of the residence but he refused to come out.  The Metro Team responded to the scene and made entry to the house.  The suspect, who was hiding deep in a closet, was apprehended using a Police K-9.  The suspect sustained minor injuries and was treated at Riverside Community Hospital before being booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on the following listed charges:

Arrested:    Ricardo Lee Williams, 24 years; Resident Moreno Valley

Charges:    Felony Warrant - Domestic Violence
Felony Warrant - Transportation of Narcotics
