Riverside, Ca- On April 12, 2002, Tiffany Arellano was arrested in the 600 block of Glennhill Dr., in the City of Riverside. Her arrest stemmed from ongoing investigations by the Riverside PD and the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. Arellano and other persons who were arrested are believed involved in a large-scale mail theft ring. The ring used stolen mail to commit further ID thefts, credit frauds, and check forgeries. Mail and other paperwork recovered in the possession of the ring have since been identified belonging to over eighty people from the western parts of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
A complaint was filed charging Arellano with numerous counts of burglary, forgery, ID theft, GTA, and possession of stolen property (RIF 102999). Arellano was arraigned in Riverside Superior Court on April 18, 2002. Bail was set at $10,000. Arellano posted bail and was released from custody on April 22, 2002. Arellano failed to appear for her preliminary hearing on May 1, 2002. A bench warrant was issued for her arrest with bail set at $25,000.
On May 11, 2002 RPD Officers while checking a residence in the 10000 block of Gould in Riverside, found Arellano hiding in a closet. Arellano was again booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center (BKG 2002-18056). Because of outstanding charges not as yet filed on Arellano and violations of the terms and conditions of probation from an earlier case, detectives sought and were granted a bail increase by Judge Patrick F. Majors. Arellano’s bail is now set at $200,000.
