Riverside Resident Dies After Being Shot In Front of Home



Riverside, Ca- On Saturday, July 2, 2005, at approximately 9:17 PM, the Riverside Police Department received a 911 call from a residence in the 4400 block of Kansas Avenue. The caller reported that his father had been shot while standing in front of the house.


Officers responded to the scene and found that the victim had already been taken to Riverside Community Hospital by private car. Other officers went to the hospital and learned the condition of the victim was very critical. Detectives from the Robbery / Homicide Unit were called to the scene to begin the follow-up investigation.


At this time, it appears the only direct witness to the shooting was the victim himself. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The only information available came from the victim before he died. He reported a white, Toyota Corolla occupied by two Hispanic males who had driven by and one of the occupants shot him.
