Kidnapping For Ransom Investigation; Victim, 57, Safely Recovered

Riverside, Ca- Riverside Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are actively investigating a kidnapping for ransom that occurred Wednesday in Riverside. Around noon, March 21, a 57- year-old Riverside woman was abducted from her home in the city's Canyon Crest neighborhood. Riverside Police became aware of the kidnapping and the ransom demand delivered to her husband by mid-afternoon.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., a concerned citizen in the unincorporated Lake Hills area near the Riverside-Corona border reported suspicious activity around a nearby vehicle to the Riverside County Sheriff. Responding sheriff's deputies discovered the kidnap victim being held against her will. She was freed and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries incurred during the abduction. One male suspect was arrested at the scene.
