LIHWAP


The Low Income Home Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is a temporary emergency program administered by the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County. This program helps low-income families with assistance on past due water and sewer bills – up to $2,000.

Eligible LIHEAP customers may receive:

  • Utility Payment Assistance.
  • The Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP) financial assistance for weather-related or energy-related emergencies.
  • The Weatherization Program services to improve the energy and efficiency of a home, including attic insulation, weather stripping, minor house repairs, and related energy conservation measures.

 

Who is eligible for this program?

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the county of Riverside, have an unpaid water or sewer bill, and meet the income guidelines.

If you receive CalWorks, CalFresh, and/or received LIHEAP within the last 4 months, you will automatically qualify for LIHWAP.

Funding is limited so not all qualified applicants may be approved. Program expires August 31, 2023, or when funds are exhausted. Be sure to review program guidelines and complete your application with the required documents.
