The City of Riverside Public Utilities will be replacing the water main and water service laterals along Hawarden Drive.
The water main currently servicing the neighborhood is more than 50 years old. The new main will help to ensure high quality and reliable water service in the neighborhood for many years to come.
The project is scheduled to begin in mid February 2007 and be complete by the end of April 2007. Heavy equipment will be in use from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Construction will affect Hawarden Drive from Piedmont Drive to past Horace Street. While residents and guests will be able to access the area at all times during the construction period, the route to and from homes will be altered during construction.
For example, if Horace St. is closed, then you would exit the neighborhood via an alternate route off of Hawarden. Click here for project map.

Toward the end of the project there will be short disruptions to water service when the new water main and service laterals are connected. Residents will be notified 48 hours prior to these service disruptions.
Trenches where the new water main and service laterals will be installed will be temporarily paved while the project is underway. Upon completion of the project, full street paving will occur.
This is the final phase of a series of improvements the Utility has undertaken to improve water service within your neighborhood. For additional information on this project, please contact Riverside Public Utilities at (951)826-5825.
