Lifeguard Title 22 Training Course

PRCSD is offering a hybrid Lifeguard/Title 22 Course to prepare you for a job as a lifeguard. The First Aid for Public Safety (Title 22) program teaches candidates additional first aid training for lifeguards, peace officers, and other interested parties. The Lifeguard program teaches candidates the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent and respond to emergencies. Participants must demonstrate 300 yards continuous swim (using the front crawl and breaststroke), retrieve a 10-lb weight in 7 feet of water and swim 20 yards with legs only and tread water for two minutes. Participants must attend all class sessions, demonstrate proficient land and water skills and pass a written exam.  Upon successful completion of the Lifeguard Course, participants will receive Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, AED, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Asthma Inhaler, Bloodborne Pathogens, Epinephrine Auto-injector, and Title 22 certificates. Participants must be at least 15 years of age.

Classes will be held at Bobby Bonds Park located at 2060 University Avenue on February 6, 7, 13 and 14.  Friday classes will be held 4 - 9 p.m. and Saturday classes 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Cost* per participant is $45 Resident/$68 Non-Resident. 

• A material fee of $85 is due at the first class meeting in the form of a check or money order only, payable to the City of Riverside PRCSD.

Sweets and Treats Valentine's Day Events

Roses are red, Violets are blue, candy is sweet and you will be too when you attend the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department Saint Valentine's Day events.  Event activities may include music, refreshments, keepsake photos, games, and arts and crafts.  Contact the community center nearest you for additional information.  Sweets and Treats is developed for youth ages 5 - 12 years old (Bryant Park 5 - 14).  Cost per person is $2

This one-day camp for 5 - 12 year olds will have campers enjoying Valentine-themed craft making, indoor and outdoor games and much more.  Please provide camper with a sack lunch and snacks.  Camp will be held at Bobby Bonds located at 2060 University Avenue and Orange Terrace Park located at 20010 Orange Terrace Parkway from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.  Space is limited, register early.  Registration fees are $10 per person Resident ($15 Non-Resident).  Register online at RivReg.org or at any local community center.
