RIVERSIDE, CA (April 17, 2023) – After another great experience and nearly $650,000 in positive economic impact to the community, the Riverside Sports Commission is pleased to announce the return of the 2023 CIF Southern Section – Ford Swimming and Diving Championships. All competitions will be conducted at the Riverside Aquatics Complex on the campus of Riverside City College. Senior Assistant Commissioner for CIFSS, Kristine Palle, recognizes Riverside as “a tremendous partner and host of CIF Southern Section Swimming/Diving. We’ve seen great success and results over the years and are anticipating a successful return. We’ve had Divisional, State and National records broken in this facility with our CIF Southern Section swimmers performing outstanding here.”

The competition is the culmination of the swimming and diving season throughout southern California including Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Mono, Inyo, and a portion of Kern county, and will showcase the most accomplished high school swimmers and divers in the region. The 2023 Championships are expected to include teams from over 400 high schools and more than 2,500 competitors for a series of preliminary and final events which begin on (diving), April 26-27. Swimming competition starts on Tuesday May 2nd and concludes on Saturday, May 6. Top qualifiers will continue to the California State Swimming and Diving Championship in Clovis, the following week.

“Not only have we enjoyed fast swimming and awesome competition at this location, we’ve been able to bring diving and swimming to the same venue making this event inclusive of the program intended for a high school championship. This facility, complete with warm up pools, its 65-meter competition pool and dive well make RAC ideal for this event. The support we receive from Riverside City College and its Aquatic Staff, the RVCB, Raincross and the community make RAC a great choice for this year’s event!”

Athletes and coaches will be admitted to all sessions an hour and a half prior to competition. Spectators will be admitted 30 minutes prior to the competition. General admission charge for adults will be $12.00. High school students with ASB or identification and children will be $5.00. Tickets may be obtained online through GoFan only; no paper tickets or cash sales are available at the venue. Volunteers from Riverside City College Swim and Water Polo Teams, along with support from Riverside Aquatics Association (RAA), will participate to make the competitive experience another great success.
