Riverside to Celebrate Two Newest Hometown Recipients of Medal of Honor

Two Riverside servicemen, Jesus S. Duran and Salvador J. Lara, who were honored at the White House last month as posthumous recipients of the Medal of Honor will be celebrated at a special meeting of the Riverside City Council on Tuesday (4/29). Two days prior, on Sunday (4/27), the two men’s names will be among 26 names that will be read aloud at the National Medal of Honor Memorial at Riverside National Cemetery. Read More...

Read with the Mayor Comes to Casa Blanca Library

Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey will bring the popular “Read with the Mayor” event, in which he reads to pre-kindergarten children and discusses the importance of early reading, to the Casa Blanca Library, 2985 Madison Street, at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (4/17). Children who attend will receive free books from the non-profit organization, A Foundation for Kids.
