La Sierra University’s Pierce Street Jazz series will feature Los Angeles saxophonist Javier Vergara along with Henry Franklin, bass, Theo Saunders, piano, and Marvin Smith, drums on Wednesday. Vergara has played and recorded with a roster of famed talent including Carol Burnett, Francisco Aguabella and Poncho Sanchez, and performed for major events such as Singapore’s Jazztec and the International Association of Jazz Educators. He has appeared in many of the world’s top venues such as New York City’s Carnegie Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl and Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Pierce Street Jazz is a professional jazz community outreach program. Performances are held at Troesh Conference Center, Zapara School of Business.
