Riverside Women Creating Change Book Launch

10/13/2024 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm

On Sunday afternoon, October 13, please join Inlandia at the Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California for the launch of Riverside Women Creating Change Stories and Inspiration. The program runs from 1:00-3:00 PM, with doors opening at 12:30. The Riverside Resistance Revival Chorus will be on hand to perform, and CRIISC’s Homegrown Heroes exhibit, of which there is considerable overlap, will be open to our guests. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!

Reluctant activists: Throughout Riverside's history, women have been at the forefront of community activism, but few have adopted that label. Instead, they were women simply doing what they knew was right. They were grassroots preservationists, speaking out and speaking up. They were building peace. Protecting our environment. Fighting erasure, fighting for the right to love who they love, fighting for the health of children, for their right to an education. Wherever there is change you will find women, often working behind the scenes, below the surface. Are you or are you not an activist? Are you sure? If you would like to be, you are. Join us. Hear their stories. Be inspired. We are planting the seeds. Passing the torch. Will you be the one to take it?

This event is free and open to all, but an RSVP is requested through Eventbrite:
