4350 La Sierra Community - UPDATE
Together we are shaping future development in La Sierra.
On Thursday, February 4, 2015, the City’s Housing Authority hosted a third community meeting regarding future residential development of 4350 La Sierra Avenue, land owned by the Housing Authority. During the Community Meeting, Housing Authority staff recapped the community involvement in developing the Request for Proposals (RFP), the State mandated requirements relative to development of this site and provided information about all proposals received as a result of the community drafted RFP.
Meta Housing (www.metahousing.com) submitted the highest scoring development proposal for 4350 La Sierra Avenue. The Meta Housing Development team attended the community meeting, presented Citrus - their concept for residential development at the La Sierra Avenue site, and were interviewed by the community members present.
A fourth community meeting will be held in early March. The date, time and location will be finalized and posted shortly, in addition to the typical mailed and e-mailed invitations. The purpose of this fourth community meeting will be to “debrief” from the Meta Team’s presentation – and for the community to form their recommendation to Staff, who will in turn form a recommendation to City Council for the development of 4350 La Sierra Avenue.

Together we can shape the future development of the Chicago-Linden area of the Eastside Neighborhood. The Housing Authority of the City of Riverside is requesting proposals for a new housing community that will serve as a model project and an anchor for the neighborhood at the northwest corner of Chicago Avenue and 7th Street.
This RFP closed on September 26, 2014 proposals are under review.
