Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) Names Robin Glenney Assistant General Manager for Water Delivery

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riverside Public Utilities, a City department which provides water and power to most Riverside homes and businesses, has named Robin Glenney as Assistant General Manager for Water Delivery.

Glenney has more than 17 years of experience in environmental and regulatory compliance and a decade of expertise in utility management. She oversees a wide range of critical functions, including water design engineering, planning, water resources, operations, maintenance, and construction activities. She also is responsible for ensuring compliance with State and Federal water regulations.

“Robin Glenney has a proven track record of leadership and operational excellence,” RPU General Manager David Garcia said. “Her unique qualifications, including her extensive experience and profound understanding of the water system, made her the perfect candidate for this leadership role.”

Glenney previously served as the organization’s Water System Operations Manager, where she oversaw the 120-member water operations and field teams. She also oversaw the operation and maintenance of roughly 50 potable wells, 6 treatment plants, 44 booster stations, potable water distribution, recycled water distribution, 4 non-potable wells, and two non-potable canal systems.

In her new role, Glenney will be at the forefront of the effort to secure and protect the city's water supplies into the future. Her leadership will be crucial in maintaining reliable and cost-effective water service for RPU customers.

“RPU has made delivering reliable and affordable water a priority for Riverside residents and businesses for more than a century,” Glenney said. “I am honored to be entrusted with ensuring our water delivery system maintains this level of excellence moving forward.”

Glenney holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from California State University, Long Beach, and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from California State University, Fullerton. She also is a certified Grade 4 Water Treatment and Distribution Operator through the California State Water Resources Control Board.
