SPC. Jesus S. Duran Eastside Library to Move Temporarily to New Site While New Facility is Built at Bobby Bonds Park
Eastside branch of Riverside Public Library to temporarily operate at Lincoln Community Center
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The SPC. Jesus S. Duran Eastside Library temporarily will move from a commercial center on Chicago Avenue to a community center in Lincoln Park while a new $20 million branch of the library is built at Bobby Bonds Park, opening next year.
The library’s current lease at 4033-C Chicago Ave. is ending and the library will cease operations there as of April 11. The library will re-open an Eastside branch on May 6 at the community center at Lincoln Park, 4261 Park Ave.
The Lincoln Park site will provide library services in the morning and afternoon outreach in the new electric Mobile Library vehicle at various park facilities throughout the Eastside and Ward 2 communities. Residents are encouraged to also use other library facilities in the meantime.
The schedule will be as follows, starting May 6:
Lincoln Park
Hours of Service: 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and Sunday
Services Provided: Wi-Fi access, laptop usage, pick up items placed on hold, story times Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m., drop-in Senior Tech Help one day a week, and a collection of new books to check out.
Mobile Library
Hours of Service:
Tuesday, 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Bordwell Park
Wednesday, 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Patterson Park
Thursday, 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Bobby Bonds Park
Friday, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Ameal Moore Nature Center (story time at 9:30 a.m.)
Friday 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Taft Park
Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Lincoln Park
Sunday, 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Hunter Hobby Park
Services Provided: Wi-Fi access, laptop usage, Small browsing collection
