Study Room
The Main Library has 4 study rooms on the 4th floor that can be reserved for up to 2 hours per day. Study Room A seats 8, Study Rooms B and C each seat 5, and the Carnegie Room seats 12.
The Soundbooth on the 3rd floor can be reserved for up to 3 hours per day and can be used to make music and audio recordings.
Reservations can be made up to 1 week in advance. Check in at the desk with your Riverside Public Library card.
Community Room and Rentable Spaces
The Main Library has a rentable Community Room that seats 86, with a large screen and projector. The Covered Arcade beside it can accommodate up to 1,680.
The Archive Reading Room has seating for 12 and is only available to rent when the Archives are closed to the public.
The Event Terrace and Multi-Purpose Room on the 3rd floor can accommodate up to 148.

The Main Library has a vintage 1936 Steinway Model B piano that can be reserved on Fridays 2-4pm. Reservations are for 15 minutes.
Must have a valid Riverside Public Library card and be an experienced piano player. Ages 12+.

The original Main Library opened in 1903 and was built with a $20,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie.
In the 1960s, the library received a $1.7 million bond and built a new library with room for 300,000 books and materials.
The Main Library moved to its current location in 2021. The new, 4-story building was designed by architect Johnson Favaro.
The Local History Archives occupy the first 2 floors. The ground floor also features a large outdoor arcade space, a Friends of the Library Bookstore, and a rentable Community Room.
The top 2 floors house the library’s public collection, 4 Study Rooms, an Innovation Center, and an early learning section with toys for imaginative play.
