    Current Situation

    On July 11th, 2022, at 2:07 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department along with Riverside County CAL-Fire responded to the 7100 Block of 215 Old Frontage Road for reports of a vegetation fire in an Arroyo between commercial business and residential houses.  Firefighters arrived to discover a half-acre of heavy vegetation burning with a structure threat.  The incident was upgraded to three alarms.  The City of Riverside Fire Department received mutual aid from Riverside County CAL-Fire.

    The vegetation fire was held to within the Arroyo with five structures threatened along with commercial vehicles.  Approximately ten homeless persons were living in the Arroyo at the time of the fire.  RPD assisted with traffic control.  City of Riverside Fire Department Arson Investigator conducted the investigation and was assisted by RPD.  The fire remains under investigation.  The fire is human related. 

    There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
