Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a structure fire reported at 3rd St. and Durahart. Fire department units arrived on scene and found a large commercial warehouse with heavy smoke coming from the roof and all sides of the building. Crews were required to force entry into the building and found a working fire, a second alarm assignment was requested to the incident. Crews made an aggressive offensive attack and contained the fire to the building of origin.
Witnesses on scene reported seeing someone start the fire. Fire department Arson Investigators arrived on scene, located the subject, and placed one person into custody. The cause of the fire currently remains under investigation.
Once the fire was placed under control, crews remained on scene to mitigate any additional hazards. There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
