Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a hazardous materials at a residence to investigate and identify an unknown substance. The incident was in response to a worker cleaning a vacated house who experienced a reaction to an unknown powder-like substance. The Allwood Incident was established with Battalion 2 Richmond in command. The hazardous material team responded and then made entry finding the described substances in the garage. Other actions included obtaining samples and then using advanced monitoring devices to test the samples ultimately determining that the substance was non-hazardous. The incident took twelve members two hours for deployment and identification. There were no injuries or exposures because of the incident.
