Current Situation
The City of Riverside responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 4500 Block of Beatty Ave for a report of a tree fire along with the roof of the single-family residence on fire. Firefighters arrived on scene and contained the fire to exterior of the residence. The outdoor patio area, fence, electrical weather head and a small portion of the roof was damaged because of the fire. The fire did not extend into the residence. RPU responded to the incident and disconnected the electrical drop line until the electrical panel can be assessed by a certified electrician prior to restoring service. The fire cause is unintentional, but the probable cause was vegetation growth from a vine wrapped around the electrical drop line at the weather head to the house.
There were no residents home at the time of the fire. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. The property was turned over to property management.
