Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a sheared hydrant On Mission Village Dr, near Mission Grove Pkwy. The first arriving engine found an excessive amount of water flowing from a sheared hydrant, and the backyards of several homes on Brisbane Ct actively flooding. The vehicle that struck the hydrant had fled the scene prior to fire department arrival. The fire captain requested a response from the owner of the hydrant, Western Municipal Water District (WMWD). Fire units relocated to Brisbane Ct where they made contact with the residents of 3 homes that had received moderate to severe flooding. WMWD representatives arrived quickly and shut the water down. Riverside Fire units worked with the homeowners to remove the standing water in their homes and provided them with information on water salvage resources. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
