Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a manufacturing plant for a report of a worker trapped in machinery. The first arriving unit investigated and discovered an worker who had his left arm trapped in a bailing machine. Riverside Fire's Technical Rescue Team was requested, along with a Battalion Chief. The Technical Rescue Team worked with plant mechanics to devise a plan to disentangle the patient's arm. The machine was systematically dismantled and, after aproximately 1 hour, the patient was extricated. The patient was transported by ambulance to a local trauma center.
