Current Situation
On Friday, June 7, 2019 at 1408 Hours, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to 4600 Challen Ave at Challen Hill Park for a report of a hiker at the top of Challen Hill having a medical issue. Firefighters arrived to find a hiker who was in minor condition. ATV-3 along with the Technical Rescue team responded to the incident and AMR. The Technical Rescue team utilized Rescue 3 to extract the patient from the top of Challen Hill to AMR for ground transportation to a local area hospital. City of Riverside Fire Department Paramedics initiated treatment and care, which was transferred to AMR.
The City of Riverside Fire Department wants to remind the public to take plenty of drinking water on hikes even if they appear in short duration.
