    Current Situation

    On July 3rd at 9:15 PM. The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a brush fire reported at Challen Park.  Fire department crews arrived on scene and found a 100’ by 100’ area burning in tall grasses at a moderate rate of spread on the hill inside the park.  The fire was inside the park and there were not any threats to any structures.  Fire department crews quickly engaged and extinguished the fire.  The fire was contained at .6 acres.  The fire was caused by juveniles playing with fireworks.  There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
