    On August 29th at 1832 hours the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Sierra Pines Apartments.  The first arriving unit found heavy smoke coming from the roof of a two story apartment complex.  An aggressive fire attack was initiated, and the fire was brought under control at 1850 hours.  The fire originated in a downstairs apartment and spread through the second floor apartment and into the attic.  There were a total of 4 apartments that were damaged and deemed uninhabitable.  The loss was estimated at $80000 with a save of $800000.  The cause of the fire was a failure of powered equipment as the fire originated in a dryer duct and spread into the wall of the apartment.  The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.  There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.
