Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vegetation fire near Van Buren and Citrus. Upon arrival the first unit reported a one acre working vegetation fire in light fuels moving at a moderate rate of spread with a potential for 10 acres and no infrastructure threats. The Company Officer also updated the location of the fire to be within Riverside County jurisdiction. City of Riverside Fire units made access for direct fire attack in coordination with other in coming Cal Fire resources. Command of the Citrus Incident was established and then transitioned to the Cal Fire Battalion Chief. Both City and County units worked jointly for approximately 2 hours containing the fire to 5.5 acres. There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
