Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a commercial first alarm fire response to a report of a pallet fire. Upon arrival, the first arriving unit found a well-involved fire to the rear of the structure with immediate fire threat to the surrounding businesses. Fire crews quickly made access and contained the fire to pallets of construction materials. The exterior of the building was damaged from the radiant heat of the fire and crews were able to prevent further extension into the building. During firefighting operations, a Firefighter experienced a medical emergency and was transported to a local area hospital with the assistance of American Medical Response.
In total 4 Engine Companies, 2 Truck Companies, 1 Squad, and 1 Battalion Chief were called to the scene to extinguish the fire. An approximate loss of $720,000 in materials were damaged by the fire. Battalion Chief Greg White was the Jurupa Incident Commander.
