Current Situation

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 10:10 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to an apartment unit on fire originating from the kitchen in the 2900 Block of Canyon Crest Drive.  Firefighters performed an aggressive fire attack combined with a primary search.  The fire was kept to the apartment unit and did not spread to the adjoining units.  Firefighters rescued a dog from the apartment unit, but the dog perished from the fire. 

An investigation was conducted by an Arson Investigator and remains under investigation.  The apartment unit is not habitable and there were three displaced Adults.  Red Cross was requested to the incident to assist.  There were no firefighter injuries.  There was one civilian who attempted to extinguish the fire and was assessed on scene by fire department paramedics.
