Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vegetation fire near the 3500 block of Everest. Upon arrival the first arriving unit reported a 1 acre working vegetation fire in light fuels moving at a moderate to rapid rate with several palm trees on fire and multiple threats to infrastructure. Fire units made access to the fire area and made direct fire attack positioning along several streets and the identified structural threats. Chief 3 Allen was in command of the Everest Incident. Crews achieved a knock down and were also successful in containing the fire to the exterior of one apartment unit. There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
