Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at the 10100 block of Fallsvale Rd with a report of a fire in the laundry room. The first arriving unit described working fire conditions with fire extension to the attic space of the house. Crews made an aggressive fire attack containing the fire to the room of origin and the exposed attic directly above. A search was completed and confirmed that all occupants evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival. After the incident was controlled, the cause and origin investigation determined that a faulty dryer was at fault. Fire units stayed committed to the incident for approximately 2 hours and continued overhaul and salvage of the homeowners’ belongings. Battalion Chief Richmond was in command of the Fallsvale Incident and at its conclusion the residence was released back to the homeowner. There were 3 persons displaced and no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
