Current Situation

On Friday, August 1, 2025, at 1:26 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to the Eastbound 60 Freeway X Main Street for a report of a vegetation fire burning along the side of the freeway.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a ¼ acre vegetation fire burning with an imminent threat to a commercial business at 2205 Business Way.  The incident was upgraded to a full structure response.  Firefighters contained the fire to the vegetation and there was no damage to the commercial structure.  There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.  The fire cause was undetermined after investigation.  There was one homeless camp within the fire perimeter.    The #4 and #5 lanes of the Eastbound 60 Freeway were closed during the incident.
