Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the 8200 block of Greenpoint Ave. The first arriving engine company reported a working garage fire. Fire department crews initiated fire attack on the garage, salvage operations on the house interior, and vertical ventilation from the roof. Ultimately 18 firefighters achieved a quick knock-down with no fire extension into the house working 2 hours for extinguishment and overhaul. The assigned Fire Investigator determined that the fire originated in the garage and was electrical in nature. Other city resources were also involved in mitigation and safety of the incident. Battalion Chief Richmond was in command of the Greenpoint Incident. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
