Current Situation
On Sunday July 18, 2021 at 2:07 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm vegetation fire response to the rear of the Grove Community Church at Grove Community X Barton. Firefighters arrived to find a ¼ acre burning in a riparian. Firefighters had difficulty making access and the fire was contained at an ½ acre burning in light to heavy fuels. The fire was located in Riverside County in the MARCH JPA. A brush truck responded to the incident to assist with fire perimeter control. A county fire engine responded to the incident to assist and take the report.
One firefighter had a medical emergency on the incident and was transported to a local area hospital in minor condition by AMR.
The fire is currently under investigation by City of Riverside Fire Department Arson Investigator being assisted by RPD.
