    Current Situation

(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

On Monday, June 10, 2019, at 1056 hours, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to 6320 Jones Avenue for a reported structure fire.  Firefighters arrived to find a well involved two-story structure that was under construction.  Due to temperatures above 100 degrees and amount of fire involvement, three additional fire units (two engines, one truck), AMR, and the Breathing Support were requested.

Fire crews made an aggressive fire attack and were able to quickly provide an all clear of possible inhabitants.  Because the building was under constructed and the structural integrity was possibly compromised, an “operational retreat” was ordered, and the tactical strategy was adjusted to a defensive firefight. With fire crews safely outside the structure, the fire was extinguished and overhauled.

Arson Investigators responded and conducted an investigation.  The fire is still currently under investigation.

Riverside public utilities responded and assisted with down power lines resulting from the fire.

There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
