Current Situation
At approximately 1630 hours on 8/17, the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a report of vegetation on fire in the area of Jurupa and Van Buren, behind the car wash. The first arriving unit discovered a ¼ acre grass fire burning on a hillside with no structure threat. The fire was placed under control within 10 minutes at just under ½ acre. The cause of the fire appeared to be related to a discarded match. The person responsible was on scene and cooperating with authorities. There was no property damage and no injuries to firefighters or the public.
