Current Situation
The City of Riverside fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on the 3400 Block of Kansas. The first arriving fire officer reported a moderate amount of smoke coming from an open door and the roof area of a single-story home.
Fire personnel were able to quickly find and extinguish a fire the back bedroom of the home with the fire being contained to the room where the fire originated. The occupants were allowed into the home to gather needed items and to secure the property.
The fire caused some physical damage to the home which required shutting off the power and gas to the home. This accompanied by the smoke damage caused the occupants to seek shelter in nearby family members homes. The family affected declined any assistance from the Red Cross.
