Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a "static Haz-mat" in the 1100 block of W. La Cadena Ave. The first arriving unit found a 50-gallon container full of an unknown liquid on city property. The Riverside Fire Haz Mat team was requested and, upon arrival, utilized specialized monitoring and identification tools to determine the substance as used motor oil. Riverside's Haz mat clean up contractor was contacted to assist with the removal and disposal of the container. An investigation is under way to identify the person(s) responsible for abandoning the product.
