(Recent updates are posted at the top of the Current Situation)

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a request for Mutual Aid from the Riverside County Fire Department for a large animal rescue in the Perris area.  The Heavy Animal Rescue Team was dispatched to the incident where they found a mini horse that had fallen into a well.  The animal was partially submerged in the well shaft adding to the complexity of the incident.  Members of the H.A.R.T team had to don protective gear to make entry into the well as it is considered a confined space. Once the animal was sedated the rescue was performed.  The animal was successfully pulled from the well and appears to be without injury.
