Current Situation
On June 15th, 2026, at 4:40 a.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 3700 block of Locust Street Downtown Riverside. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a two-story residential apartment on fire with occupants out of the structure. Due to the size, complexity and immediate exposures, two additional engine companies, an AMR ambulance and Breathing Support responded to the incident. Firefighters contained the fire to the structure of origin with no exposures damaged.
A total of four adults were displaced. Red Cross was notified and will be working with the displaced adults. One cat was deceased and Riverside County Animal Control responded to the incident for the deceased cat. RPU Electric and SOCAL gas were working on securing the utilities. RPD assisted with traffic control on University Ave.
There were no firefighters or civilian injuries.
