Current Situation

On June 21st, the City of River side Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at a commercial property at the Northgate Mall.  The first arriving engine reported an exterior working fire to the front of the structure which was exposing the building.  Fire department crews initiated fire attack and checked for extension on the interior and the roof areas .  The building was secured as an unoccupied structure and there was evidence of a homeless encampment at the fires area of origin. Crews were committed for less than 1 hour for extinguishment and overhaul.  The assigned Fire Investigator is completing the cause and origin but at the time of the writing of this report the fires cause is undetermined. Battalion Chief Richmond was in command of the Magnolia Incident. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
