Current Situation
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 0300 hours, The City of Riverside Fire Department responded a first alarm structure fire assignment to the 4900 block of Magnolia Ave for a report of a detached garage on fire. Firefighters arrived to find two detached garages on fire and threatening the residential structure. Firefighters quickly put exposure lines into position to protect the residential structures and came upon a down powerline.
RPU responded to the incident and secured the down powerline. Firefighters were able to contain the fire while awaiting RPU. After the down powerline was secured, firefighters fully extinguished the fire in conjunction with the Arson Investigator investigation.
The cause of the fire was undetermined after investigation, but the probable cause was more than likely the down powerline drop to the main residential house.
There were two damaged passenger vehicles because of the fire as well. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The residential home was undamaged.
