Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving an unmarked Rialto Police Department Vehicle and a big rig at the intersection of Main Street and Alamo. The first due Engine Company arrived on scene and reported a collision involving a vehicle and a big rig. The collision caused the Rialto Police vehicle to leave the roadway and collide with a parked car in a parking lot. The collision pinned the officer in the vehicle. Riverside City Firefighters off of Truck 13 used hydraulic extrication tools to remove the driver’s side door to access the injured officer. The officer was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the big rig was unhurt.
