Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire reported behind a business near the 700 block of Marlborough Ave. The first arriving unit reported a 200’ by 200’ fire burning with a moderate rate of spread. Firefighters quickly advanced hose lines to the incident and were able to contain the fire at approximately 2 acres. The incident was determined to be in the State Responsibly Area and a full response from Cal Fire responded to the incident. Once the fire was contained, the incident was transferred to Cal Fire with two engines from Riverside remaining on scene to assist.
There were not any civilian or firefighter injuries reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
