Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a train versus a vehicle at Jefferson cross of the BNSF railway tracks.  Upon arrival fire crews found a single vehicle with major damage and a Metrolink train stopped on the tracks.  The single vehicle had one occupant in moderate condition requiring extrication from the vehicle and no reported injuries from the Metrolink train operators.  Crews quickly extricated the subject from the vehicle and transported them to a local trauma center.  Battalion 2 White was in command of the Jefferson incident.  Riverside PD, BNSF PD, La County Sheriffs, and Metrolink representatives were at scene conducting the investigation.  Jefferson at the rail crossing will be closed for several hours for the investigation, please avoid the area
