Current Situation
On August 1, 2021 at 7:35 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department was requested by Riverside County CAL-Fire to respond to Mission Inn X Santa Ana River for a rolled over off-road vehicle in the Santa Ana River Bottom with three patients. The City of Riverside Technical Rescue Team along with ATV-1 and one chief officer responded to the incident. The Chief Officer arrived to find CAL-Fire / Riverside County working a technical rescue with three patients, one critical and two moderate patients within the City of Riverside jurisdiction on the city border with the City of Jurupa Valley.
The incident went into unified command and the City of Riverside Fire resources supported CAL-Fire. The patients were hiked out of the river bottom to AMR and were transported to a local area trauma hospital. The incident scene was transitioned from Riverside County Sherriff department to the Riverside Police Department.
