Current Situation
On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 3:11 p.m., The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to 200 E. Alessandro Blvd at the Mission Villa Apartments for a report of a structure fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to find an apartment on fire with an attic fire along with residents evacuating. Due to the size and complexity of the building, the incident was upgraded to three alarms along with two AMR ambulances. Firefighters performed fire attack along with a search for any occupants that may be trapped.
Firefighters held the fire to a total of four apartment units. There was one civilian injured from smoke inhalation who was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. Due to the number of apartment units involved, the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) personnel also responded to the incident to help facilitate displaced occupants. The response included three Chief Officers, eight Engine Companies, three Truck Companies, and one Squad along with two arson investigators.
The investigation remains under investigation; however, it appears accidental. There was a total of six displaced residents who were seeking shelter with friends or family. The building was released to property management. There were no firefighter injuries.
