Current Situation
The Riverside City Fire Department responded to a reported vegetation fire at on the 5500 block of Mitchell Ave. The first arriving units reported a fast moving grass fire on the side of a hill with structures threatened. This set of circumstances led to the addition of two extra engines and a water tender to the response. The units on scene extinguished the fire using multiple progressive hose lays prior to any damage to the threatened structures or any property improvements.
