Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at the 6700 block of Mitchell.  The first arriving unit described working fire conditions with smoke showing from the attached garage.  Crews made an aggressive fire attack containing the fire to the room of origin. A search was completed and confirmed that the house was not occupied at the time of the incident.  After the incident was controlled, the cause and origin investigation were completed by one of the fire departments 24-hour Fire Investigators. Fire units stayed committed for approximately 1-2 hours and continued overhaul and securing the scene.  Battalion Chief Richmond was in command of the Mitchell Incident and at its conclusion the residence was released to the Fire Investigator for continued investigation.  There was 1 person displaced and no reported injuries.
