At 0139 the City of Riverside Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 7900 Block of Modesto Drive.  The first arriving unit found heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage of a single family residence.  An aggressive fire attack was initiated, and crews were able to hold the fire to the attached garage with minimal extension into the living area.  The fire was brought under control at 0210.  The estimated loss to the structure was $180,000 with a save of $330,000.  There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.  The cause of the fire was undetermined after an investigation.
