Current Situation

The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a tree into a structure. Upon arrival the first arriving unit determined that a large tree uprooted because of high winds which fell into a structure causing moderate damage.  The Company Officer further determined that there were other houses in the area affected by the winds. Additional units were requested, and command was established. Fire Units made access to the affected structure, ensured evacuation, and controlled the house utilities.  As a matter of safety, the power was controlled to two additional homes in the same neighborhood. Other city resources including Riverside Public Utilities were called to the scene for mitigation. Battalion 2 was in command of the Mt. Whitney Incident. There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
