Current Situation
The City of Riverside Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the 5700 block of Norwood. The first arriving engine company reported a shed and debris fire to the rear of the property spreading to vegetation. Fire department crews initiated fire attack to the rear of the given address. Units were also positioned to properties along Stover. Ultimately 18 firefighters achieved a quick knock-down with no fire extension into houses associated with several properties. A fire investigation was completed by Battalion 2 who determined that the fire originated in a storage box under a covered shed. The cause is undetermined but restaurant sterno cans are a probable cause. Battalion Chief Richmond was in command of the Norwood Incident. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
